Summer Session 1: Learn How to Print with Silkscreen Techniques

Beginning with simple pre-made screens students will learn silk-screening technique.
Students will then develop their own design that can be created directly on the screen or through a digital process. Experimentation with different inks, papers, and fabrics will be explored.
This class may be taken as a graphic design elective with permission by the department.

About the course:
Visual Narrative encompasses comics, graphic novels, children’s books, character & visual development for animation and more.  It also encompasses many different styles, techniques and topics.  In this class  students will explore visual storytelling by  developing concepts and illustrating stories while  learning basic drawing principles and professional techniques. This is a non-digital illustration course.

About the Image:
“The Secrets of Tomb 10A”  was created for a book series about  time travel.  For this piece I  researched hieroglyphics and became fascinated with the fantastic and whimsical the carvings of ancient Egypt. This piece is acrylic, pastel and a little bit digital.  © 2012 Elizabeth Sayles

Endeavor is currently looking for MULTIMEDIA DESIGN INTERNS for SUMMER 2013. Design interns will have ownership of projects involving:

Web videos to include:

  • Kinetic Typography
  • Animation
  • Infographics/Data Visualization

Interns will design content that will be featured on Endeavor’s website and shared with our more than 40,000 twitter followers around the world. Interns will have full ownership of their projects and will gain experience working with Endeavor’s in-house graphic designer and the rest of the Marketing & Communications team.

The team you will be working with:

Endeavor’s Marketing and Communications team includes staff members who have worked at Bain & Company and Bloomberg as well as other non-profits, such as Ashoka, TechnoServe and Acumen Fund.

List of responsibilities may include:

  • Creating storyboards and presentations materials
  • Creating sophisticated multi-layered graphics based on interpreting scripts, current design trends
  • Collaborating with the in-house designer, Insight Research team, and Marketing & Communications team

Proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator is required.

Princeton Summer Theater is looking for a Graphic Designer! Princeton Summer Theater is a nonprofit summer stock run on the Princeton University campus each summer. PST balances a commitment to producing quality arts programming for the community with providing an opportunity for undergraduates to immerse themselves in the arts and arts administration.

As the Graphic Designer, you would:

  • Earn a stipend of $2500 plus bonus, room and board 
  • Create a cohesive look for the season and design the season brochure 
  • Design the poster and program for 4 mainstage shows and 1 children’s show 
  • Create flyers, newspaper ads, teasers as needed 
  • Use your organizational skills and other talents to help run a small nonprofit company

Candidates should be familiar with InDesign and Photoshop; skills in photography, painting, or online publicity are a plus. Internship Position: Graphic & Web Designer

The internship will be focused on the front end presentation of our 10 websites as well as the design of both print and online marketing material.

Description of Responsibilities:

  • Web usability – page design, content design and site design
  • Page graphic design with fonts, images, and color using Photoshop
  • Designing and creating both print and online marketing material
  • Information architecture and Marketing and messaging concepts
  • Creating the visual look for new mobile features

Required Skills:

  • Some experience in Graphic and Web Design
  • Fluent in use Photoshop and comfort with Illustrator
    • Web authoring with HTML and JavaScript a plus

 

Academic Credit: We are willing to complete necessary paperwork and supervisory duties to obtain academic credits with your undergraduate or graduate school.

Hours: 25 hours per week.
