One Club’s annual creative career fair
The One Club’s annual creative career fair, WHERE ARE ALL THE BLACK PEOPLE will take place on September 23, 2013, in New York City.
The event is open to students, professionals looking for a career change to the advertising industry and, of course, present industry creatives who are looking to give back and meet, engage with and hire new, diverse talent.
This year’s event will include: Portfolio reviews, Elevator pitches, Mentoring sessions.
This event is for graduating seniors and recent graduates.
It’s free, open to all, and you will have the opportunity to have your portfolios reviewed, make valuable professional contacts, and maybe even nail down a job.

Congratulations to Lauren Winter who is a semifinalist for the 2013 Adobe Design Achievement Awards in Packaging Design. Lauren created her Swizzle Package Design project in Professor’s Salcer’s Package Design class (ARTS 370). We will all be rooting for Lauren when the winners of the competition are announced in October.

Queens College Newspaper, The Knight News, is looking for Graphic Designers
Student would layout the newspaper using InDesign and create graphics for reporters’ stories (if needed) through Photoshop.
-Knowledge in Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
-Open to and creative in sharing ideas of how to layout the newspaper.
-Since anything can change in news, open to change or be ready/available if something sudden has to be modified.
-Commitment: 2-3 hours for 2 days (but not limited to that commitment can be involved and active at the paper for however long student desires). Although not paid, it is like a job and needs to be a concern to the student!
