Win a Chance to Interview Stefan Sagmeister Live in His Studio on February 6
Three Design Students Will Win a Chance to Interview Stefan Sagmeister Live in His Studio on February 6
Submit the questions you’d ask online to be considered by January 27, and we’ll choose the three interviewers
Here’s how you can apply to be one of the three students who will interview Stefan Sagmeister in New York City on Thursday, February 6:
You can tweet sample questions through Monday, January 27 at 9:00 AM (EST) that you would ask Stefan about his design practice, his book, or life in his New York design studio to this hashtag:#sagmeisterbook (it is important for you to use this hashtag). We will then choose three design students based on the thoughtfulness of the sample questions sent in and announce the winners on Tuesday January 28. You must be able to attend the signing on February 6.
Other news: Anyone purchasing a copy of Stefan Sagmeister’s updated edition of Things I have learned in my life so far will receive one of two free temporary tattoos—courtesy of Tattly— based on the Sagmeister maxims: “Don’t Expect People to Change” and “Self-Confidence Produces Fine Results.”

Craig Ward at Type Directors Club
Opening reception Thursday, Jan 23, 6 – 8:30pm
On display January 23 – 30, 2014
The Type Directors Club will present the first solo show by designer and typographer Craig Ward; continuing his preoccupation with the juxtaposition of clean, classically designed typography with the chaos of natural processes and organic materials. Over a year in the making, the subject matter for the series are Pagan words and texts from the Old English dialects of 5th – 12th Century Britain, applied by hand to slabs of living edge wood using a centuries old arts and crafts technique known as pyrography.
Join us and Craig for the opening reception on the evening of January 23rd where all of the work will be on sale along with broadsheet format photo books.
Date:January 23, 2014
Time: 6:00 pm – 8:30 pm
