Graphic Design internship available for Spring semester.
• You will be supervised by the Promotion Design Director
• Projects can involve: conept to design of flyers, digital flyers, e-blasts, counter cards, posters, invites, logos, misc. sales materials, etc.; scanning and light retouching, archiving and re-sizing files; researching images and ideas for Photo shoots and help with Photo shoots.
• Help design in-book Custom Content pages.
• Level of skill will determine level of projects on which the intern assists.

Intern can expect to learn

Get valuable “real world” experience in the publishing industry! Learn how to work on tight deadlines in an art department and interact with the marketing department. Get feed back on your design, learning by doing. Generate “real” portfolio pieces. Review and feedback of interns portfolio.

• Software skills: InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator are necessary. Powerpoint a plus.
• Enthusiastic about design and typography.
• Is on time, meets deadlines and is willing to help out with the art department’s projects and needs as they arise.

• Portfolio or examples of student’s design work will be reviewed and is essential for consideration.

Princeton Architectural Press is looking for a design intern for Winter/Spring 2015. This internship is a great opportunity to work in a creative team and learn more about book design, stationery products, and the publishing industry. Interns will work on projects within a variety subjects including: art, architecture, design, photography, visual culture, landscape, and critical theory.

Basic Info:
– Late January to May 2015
– Must be able to work a minimum of 25 hours per week
– Design graduates or students enrolled in a GD program preferred
– We are located in the East Village, New York City

Tasks May Include:
• Book covers/jackets, book interiors, stationery products
• Sales and promo materials (print, digital, & social media)
• Maintain series project templates according to house styles
• Typographic composition and text setting
• Editorial text corrections
• Work with production to color correct proofs
• Assist in photographing product shots
• Participate in editorial, production, and marketing team meetings
• Scout art for book or stationery projects
• Study background information for individual projects
• Find new materials, products, and packaging ideas in support of editorial

Requirements and Qualifications:
• Superb typographic sense and conceptual thinking
• Attention to detail is a must
• Competent with the latest InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator, HTML, CSS
• Must be creative, organized & willing to learn
• Good multi-tasking skills

• Weekly stipend TBD
• Student credit if applicable
• $100 credit in PAPress books
