Organizational Structure:


The Graphic Design Intern will work very closely with the Vince Marketing team and report to the Graphic Designer.


  • Work closely with Art Director, Graphic Designer and e-commerce team to maintain the weekly upkeep of by assisting in updating web creative deck, keeping calendar in order for emails, homepages, editorials etc
  • Ensure communication is passed off inter departments in a timely manner, assist in trafficking projects that need multiple sign offs for deadlines
  • Coordinate with e-commerce team to pass off assets, maintain and organize server and database for multiple departments to be able to access and utlitize assets
  • Assist the Graphic Designer by taking on special projects, assist in designing collateral, and promotional pieces for retail and wholesale such as: store emails, cash wrap displays and in-store signage, light boxes, E-Vites
  • Assist Copywriter by passing along copy assets to the e-commerce team, keep copy database organized and easily accessible for all teams


  • Must be working towards a BA/BFA degree in Graphic Design or related field
  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s program at an accredited college or university
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Effective project management skills are necessary
  • Computer skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email
  • Social media skills to include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest
  • Self motivated, ability to multi- task, critical thinking, problem solving skills, initiative, drive, common sense, creativity and flexibility are essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Bridge, and knowledge of code etc


This is a paid temporary role. Temporary employees do not receive vacation, sick time, holiday pay or personal time.

Summer Design Intern (paid)

Big Duck is looking for a paid intern to join our creative team this summer. The graphic design intern will provide support in varied creative projects and production needs. This is a great opportunity to understand the working process and day-to-day responsibilities of a small agency through hands-on learning and execution. The intern will work under the guidance of the Art Directors to contribute to logo and brand development, fundraising and awareness campaigns, production tasks, and marketing efforts.Responsibilities include:

Walt Disney Design Intern, Summer 2017

We are looking for a qualified graphic design intern to join our team this Summer. Our department works on various types of design projects such as web banners, logos, and advertisements. We also develop and design assets for all of the conventions that Marvel attends. We work with all departments within the Marvel organization, so a chance to be creative is vast. Students applying for this design internship should have knowledge of current versions of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, and a willingness to learn. The ability take creative direction is a definite plus! Portfolio samples are also mandatory to demonstrate design ability.


This role will assist in the design and creation of various pieces of Publishing Marketing including ads for print and digital marketing, which includes being responsible for website takeovers, basic gif creating, and social media campaigns, etc. You will also work directly with PR teams on the creation of Convention Presentations. Finally, you will work directly with the Merchandising & Promotions Production Designer and the Sr. Manager of Merchandising & Promotions to design logos, branding, and trade dress for Publishing events.

Basic Qualifications

Strong understanding of basic design fundamentals and proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. Experience in Adobe After Effects and a passion for drawing and illustrating is a plus.

  • All candidates must be available during the months of May through August.
  • All candidates must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship.

Marie Claire Summer Art Intern (unpaid)

Marie Claire is looking for interns in the art department for Summer 2017. Candidates must have a strong interest in magazine design, photography, typography and love for fashion. Excellent communication and organizational skills are a must, plus the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. He/she should be resourceful, responsible and a creative problem-solver. The intern will assist in the daily workflow of the magazine. Duties will include but are not limited to: Maintaining and updating the mini wall for each issue, preparing and updating flip books for Editor-in-Chief and Design Director, photo research, and preparing layouts for presentation. Under the guidance of the art department, the intern will experience the process of a national monthly magazine.

Mattel Digital Design Intern – NYC Summer 2017 (paid)

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate to participate in our paid Summer 2017 Internship Program within the Mattel Creations Department.
Primary Duties:

The Graphic Design Intern will be responsible for generating digital marketing creative content for including social media assets, photography research, and website designs. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to the following:

• Work closely with team designer to develop web graphics and assets.
• Design digital assets across a range of client categories and visual styles.

Graphic Design Eileen Fisher Summer Internship (paid)

The EILEEN FISHER Internship Program cultivates the professional and personal development of our interns through meaningful immersion in our organization and culture. Interns gain valuable knowledge and hands-on work experience, while developing useful skills, building their resumes, and expanding their professional networks.The program runs from June 5th through August 11th.
Position Summary:
Assist in design and production of website, social media, and email assets for wholesale, retail and web.

Learning Goals:
Learn skills related to graphic design in an ecommerce setting including elements of website design, print for advertising and print for in-store.
Increase exposure to and skill level in adobe suite i.e. Photoshop, inDesign, and Illustrator.
Learn all the steps and processes that bring together a monthly website and supporting print pieces from integrating web merchandising, photography, and print production
Learn to work with and support a design team, and share creative ideas with the team
Learn corporate communication skills both verbally and written.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
Print production of seasonal post-cards, mailers, and other print pieces. Work in InDesign to create files, layouts, and type.
Web production for some layout of anchors, home pages, email and social media images. Use mainly Photoshop for cropping, resizing, color-correcting, and balancing backgrounds.
Assist in preparation of files for monthly site launch


Required Experience:
Motivated communicator and a team player. Standard graphic design skills in layout and typography. Experience working in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Retouching skills a plus. Basic HTML + CSS knowledge a plus
Have a basic understanding of web design and an interest in fashion e-commerce
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Graphic Design/Digital Design major (must be currently enrolled student). Concentration/coursework in Digital Media a plus.

Last night Weigine Wang & Lisa Maldonado met Eddie Opara at the free lecture sponsored by NYU Leslie eLab.

Weigine wrote…Thank you for posting the announcement of the lecture on the blog–the event was amazing and I learned a lot!! At the end of the talk, my classmate Lisa and I asked Mr. Opara to have our photo taken together–which was nice. I hope there will be more interesting events coming soon!
