DESIGN INTERN, SUMMER 2016 (paid)

Join our team of talented editors and designers who are passionate about creating an innovative product at MSNBC.com. As a Design Intern, you will collaborate with the product and editorial teams, working on projects ranging from data visualization to visual design. The ideal candidate is a motivated designer, who can juggle multiple projects with minimal supervision.

Criteria

| Independent worker and self-starter
| A thoughtful portfolio, featuring examples of typography & design
| Strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop) are required
| Excellent typography, composition, and photo-research skills
| Ability to maintain organized files
| Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
| Knowledgable in current events and design trends
| Education or interest in journalism/media a plus
| HTML5/CSS & JavaScript are a plus

Internships at NBCUniversal are paid and do not require course credit.

NBCUniversal interns must meet the following criteria:

| In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress
| Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits)
| Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
| Must be 18 years of age or older
| Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the U.S. without a visa or sponsorship

Intern can expect to learn

You will be expected to use your full range of visual design and production skills while gaining technical experience working with the Adobe Creative Suite, Drupal, our content management system, and HTML5 & CSS.
